Join us in celebrating August as NH Eat Local Month with a fun, interactive Instagram scavenger hunt!
This hunt is a joint effort between the NH Food Alliance Education Action Team and NH Eat Local Month. During August, we're encouraging you to get out into your community with your friends and family to find local foods from all different sectors - farms, food businesses, restaurants, wineries/breweries, and even your own backyard! The hunt is designed so that everybody can participate across the state. We also have 4 great prizes - and 1 awesome grand prize!
How to Participate:
Download Instagram on your phone, or use your existing account. Follow the instructions to create an account, or log in. Make sure your account is set to "public" so that we can see your entries!
Find and photograph one of each of the items on that week’s list.
After finding an item, post the photo to your Instagram account. In the photo’s description, say what the item is and tag it with #nheatlocalhunt so it can be counted!
Continue to post your finds as the week goes on. All finds must be posted for that week by Saturday at midnight.
After the week ends, the NH Food Alliance team will count the entries and announce a winner!
You could win one of these four weekly prizes!
Week One: A $100 gift certificate to a farmer’s market near YOU, sponsored by Vital Communities Valley Food and Farm
Week Two: A $100 gift card to your favorite food co-op, sponsored by the Monadnock Food Co-op
Thanks to our very generous prize sponsors!
Make sure to participate throughout August!
The person with the most finds for the entire month will win our grand prize:
An overnight stay for two and a $50 restaurant credit at the Colby Hill Inn in scenic Henniker, NH, generously provided in connection with NH Farm to Restaurant. This beautiful country eco retreat features 14 guest rooms. The inn also offers a farm-to-table driven restaurant named The Grazing Room and full catering services for events and weddings, up to 120 guests, on its 5-acre property, which includes a barn that dates back to the 1840s.
The NH Farm to Restaurant Connection is an all volunteer, not for profit organization within NH Made promoting NH farms and agricultural products to restaurants, institutions, retailers and the general public. We also are a resource for farmers seeking markets, and to restaurants and others seeking to source locally.
