NH Food Alliance to Host 5th Annual NH Food System Statewide Gathering

Durham, NH, January 20 -- This March 10th at Plymouth State University, join the NH Food Alliance network for our annual Statewide Gathering, now celebrating its fifth anniversary. The Statewide Gathering has convened food system organizers, businesses, and producers each year since 2015, with the goal of sparking new and strengthening existing connections to support the local food economy.

This year’s Statewide Gathering will include climate change adaptation and resilience as an overarching theme that affects us all in New Hampshire. Climate change brings multiple challenges to Granite State food producers and businesses, but these challenges can be mitigated with increased collaboration with each other, and by empowering communities to become more resilient and vibrant.

Come to the Statewide Gathering to learn from others about topics including climate change, collaborative funding, political advocacy, racial and social food justice, and sustainable business development. There will be plenty of time for key networking opportunities and an exhibitor hall with representatives from across the food system, including books for sale by Main Street Bookends. We are also happy to offer a complimentary, delicious, locally-sourced lunch.

This event is open to the public - anybody interested or working in the local food system is encouraged to attend. We are offering a special early-bird registration rate of $25 per person until end of day on February 14th. After that day, general registration will begin for $35 per person. We will be offering fee waivers to those who are unable to pay registration costs, as well as a limited number of free student tickets.

The NH Food Alliance aims to influence and shape the future of our emerging local food economy and to build a food system that works for all in New Hampshire: people, businesses, communities, and the environment. The NH Food Alliance collaborates as a network to amplify and connect the work of organizations and coalitions, share knowledge and resources, build relationships, and achieve greater positive impact throughout the state. The NH Food Alliance is coordinated by the Sustainability Institute at the University of New Hampshire and is supported by many dedicated organizations across New Hampshire.
