Genuine Local (GL) is a kitchen and culinary incubator space for food entrepreneurs which opened its doors in winter 2016 in Meredith. Their focus is assisting food entrepreneurs to succeed, which they do by assembling a wide range of tools and resources, including training, technical support, and regulatory assistance. GL offers a licensed production facility to growers for rent, as well as the option to hire GL to help develop their product.

 It's already feels like summer outside, but the Action Teams have diligently working to implement their respective action plans. Look below to see what each of the teams has been up to.  

Education

 

Action Teams are hard at work on innovative, collaborative projects that will support and enhance farm, fish, and food enterprise viability in New Hampshire.  On April 27, the co-chairs of our action teams met with the Process and Backbone Teams to discuss progress, share information, explore synergies, and brainstorm about challenges.  

Bear’s head, oysters, and chestnuts sauteéd with just a bit of butter, salt and pepper: sampling these delicious mushrooms was a highlight of last month’s spring network gathering at the NH Mushroom Company in Tamworth. Over 30 people joined us for an entertaining and eye-opening tour with Eric and Stephanie at their production facility in Tamworth. We learned about the entire production process, from inoculation to harvest, and observed the fruiting habits of five different mushroom species. Eric pointed out that NH Mushroom Co.
